Swine Flu Spring Break Over

It turns out health officials now realize the Swine Flu wasn't as bad as they thought, so they no longer recommend schools to close.

So we got a recorded message call Tuesday evening from our school district superintendent with the news that school would start again sooner than they had told us in our last official call.

Everyone would be back in school on Thursday morning, May 7th.

That should mean our parks and our local library and any church or other business that had closed because of the health officials recommendation should also re-open.

As we drove past a couple of parks on the way home Wednesday, Joshua and I looked to see if the park closed signs were gone yet... but they were still there.

Looks like we have officially survived Swine '09. We may have to buy t-shirts from the kids at Steele High School who are selling shirts with the pig in the picture at the top of this post as a fundraiser for their Project Graduation party. If you would like to buy one of the shirts (or more), go to http://www.shsprojectgrad.org/

Hi from Italy!!!
First of all, I apologize for my English.
I saw Josh's case on Discovery Channel and I was so sad for his story. Before I arrived here on your blog I thought that his life would no longer be the same as before the disease, but fortunately I was wrong, because with your and his commitment, his life is more normal than I could imagine.
For a kid is important play and have fun, and I am really really happy to see that he still plays sometimes with his friends. By the way, I read that his team won the relay race and that Josh was the leader! Great job Josh, congratulations!
And I am very happy that 17th June he will have the surgery for the brething pacemaker, he will be in my thoughts the whole day, even if probably he will have the surgery when here will be already night and I will probably sleeping.
I admire all your family, really. The dignity and strenght with wich you have dealt with this evil desease is an example for me to go ahead day by day.
I hope that in the future a cure will be found against ROHHAD. Hope never dies.
I hug you all,
Fabio (from Verona, the city of Romeo and Juliet!).

P.S.: Josh, I saw that you are a Spurs fan. I support Mavs, and I'm disappointed that Mavs won against Spurs in the playoffs. Next year will go better! :)
